i would like to know what you think is the best name brand car seat stroller, list a few from best to cheap. where does Graco and Safety1st fit into this category i live in Canada if that makes a difference im 30 weeks pregnant and im goin to buy a duo stroller and i want to know what a good name brand is. Lightest baby car seat?
I am looking to buy a car seat for my baby, due very soon but am wary of the fact that some of the car seats are VERY heavy before even putting your baby in them, let alone getting them in and out of a car. I would like to find a car seat which is compatible with a base and must be suitable for a newborn.Price doesn't matter but I would like to find a website which shows the weight of the actual seat not just the weight of the child which can be in it . So far the lightest I've found is 2.8kg the Streety fix but this doesn't appear to be sold separately to the Streety travel system, whereas the average seat appears to be around 4kg.Any ideas on seats lighter than 4kg or comparison sites would be gratefully received

So, everyone in our baby group has everything ready for the arrival of their baby, except us.Now is time to baby shop. I'm looking for a good car seat that attaches to a base in the car, then to a pushchair pram, stroller, what ever you call it that is suitable from birth to preferably a few years old. I'm doing online research shopping now and need some suggestions on which direction to go. Price doesn't really matter that much, we've saved up for this one. How do you get the cigarette smoke smell out of a baby car seat?
A friend of mine gave me her Britax car seat for my daughter. Problem is she smokes like a freight train and it's really smoky smelling. The thing is 1 yr old and in perfect condition other than that. I wouldn't normally buy a used car seat but I know her very well.threenorns i agree about the smoking...if i can't get the smell out i am not going to use the seat it is a back up seat for my husbands truck
When did you put your babies car seat in the forward position?
Sorry if my question doesn't make sense, it is late and my little one is awake still, but I am tired. Anyways, I was wondering when you faced your baby forward while in the car? I know most car seats say when the baby is one year old, or reaches 20lbs, which ever comes first. Well that is the law here in my state, which is Ohio. But what if my baby was large at birth and reaches 20lbs half way before the age of one? He was 10lbs 4oz at birth, and at 5 months he is now 16lbs.. Should I wait until he is one, or go ahead when he is 20lbs? Also, he isn't going to fit in his regular car seat much longer. His legs, when stretched out, go passed his car seat and his feet dangle. He is a chunky boy, and tall, but I want what is best. I would ask his doctor, but I am in the middle of changing his doc due to his first pediatrician not really giving a rat's butt about ANYTHING Any advice?
